Node (World-Biome Axis) · node-district

Owner directive (2026-07-10), canonical. "Nodes: The spatial districts and departments. A collection of cells. Nodes are the physical locations on the Dynamic Island—the bustling market (sales), the quiet observatory (R&D), or the industrial forge (engineering)." AXIS NOTE (world-biome axis). "Node" is triple-loaded. This card is the world-biome sense per codeland-ontology — distinct from the matter axis (matter-hierarchy: Node = networked cell) and the work axis (work-units: a Node delivery = all atoms and particles approved by the squad chain). It also maps onto, but is not identical to, the districts concept: a District is the functional surface (kanbans, PAD/POD layouts); a world Node is that District's physical place on the island.

A Node is a physical location on the dynamic-island where a department lives and its work-cells cluster. The directive's canonical exemplars [src: ...:710]:

the bustling marketsales
the quiet observatoryR&D
the industrial forgeengineering

Nodes are populated and maintained as part of the actors' routines — datans wake, process element-world Elements, and spend their day "maintaining Nodes" [src: ...:722]; loopers and Datans in collaborative-intelligence work "in the same Work Cell, forming a symbiotic relationship to build a Node" [src: ...:736]. neuralwares are "Acquired in specific Districts" [src: ...:728], making Nodes the world's shops and academies for capability upgrades.

Nodes carry the narrative weight of ventures: "Ventures require the collaboration of entire Nodes and dictate the primary narrative arc of the Island for that season" [src: ...:744] (quests-mapping); completing an endeavor-tool Endeavor "unlocks new territory on the island or upgrades a specific District" [src: ...:746]. The daily-loop Commute traverses them: "The camera follows a Datan moving through a District" [src: ...:768].
