Owner directive (2026-07-10), canonical. "Adaptive Intelligence: The biome changes based on company health. A successful venture blooms the environment; a failing endeavor causes storms or decay." [src: wiki/development/prompts-archive/by-topic/knowledge-management-and-concept-modeling.md:732]

Content

Adaptive Intelligence is the first of the three cognitive-loop behavioral modes in the CODELAND world ("Cognitive Loops: The behavioral routines" [src: ...:730]) — the mode by which the environment itself is the dashboard. Company health is never read off a chart; it is read off the world:

  • a successful venture → the biome blooms (flora expands, light warms, the venture-animal thrives);
  • a failing endeavor → storms or decay roll in over the affected node-districts [src: ...:732].

The mechanic operates at every scale of the codeland-ontology:

TriggerEnvironmental response
work-cell completed"triggers a physical evolution in the biome (e.g., a building is upgraded, a forest expands)" [src: ...:708]
day's work processed at Dusk"the landscape permanently alters (a new tower rises, a new river flows) to reflect the day's achievements" [src: ...:774]
venture/endeavor health over cycle-daynightbloom vs. storms/decay, weather systems [src: ...:712,732]

Adaptive Intelligence is what makes the island a dynamic-island rather than a static skybox, and it is the world-side twin of the grounded cognitive-loop write-back (results re-enter the graph and change future behavior). Its narration — describing the bloom and the storms as the camera moves — is the job of the sensory-genome under the ecological-interconnectedness lens (storytelling-lenses), whose canonical example shows the mechanic mid-beat: "the surrounding market district visibly pulsed, the neon flora blooming wider as the transaction cleared" [src: ...:760] (owner's own prose).

Sibling modes: augmented-intelligence (data overlays for Humans), collaborative-intelligence (Humans + Datans in one Cell).
