Content

Augmented Intelligence is the second cognitive-loop behavioral mode of the CODELAND world: the looper's way of seeing more without leaving the world. Instead of opening a dashboard, a Human equips a neuralware and the data appears mapped onto the physical environment — metrics shimmering over a node-district, health auras around the venture-animal, provenance trails on knowledge-particles.

The capability is acquired, not given: "Neural Wares: Upgrades, skills, and tools. Acquired in specific Districts, Neural Wares … allow Humans to unlock new interaction modes (e.g., enhanced analytical vision, access to restricted biomes)" [src: ...:728]. An actor's Neural Ware inventory is part of their Character Progression sheet [src: ...:748] (quests-mapping), so what a Human can see scales with what they have earned.

Two constraints shape the mode:

  1. Diegetic rendering. Overlays obey the diegetic-ui rule — "No UI menus breaking immersion; all UI is diegetic, like holograms or physical signposts" [src: ...:756]. An overlay is a hologram in the scene, an in-world pad surface, never a floating menu.
  2. The ware is an Heirloom. Per the directive's ontology of beings, Neural Wares "are only Heirlooms to be used, perfected, changed, learned, teached" [src: ...:685] — instruments handed between datans and Humans, not intelligence in themselves (heirloom).

The practical loop: on the work-radar, augmented vision reveals which glowing work-cells an actor is certified to harvest [src: ...:770-772]. Sibling modes: adaptive-intelligence (the world reflects health), collaborative-intelligence (Humans + Datans share a Cell).
