Sensory Genome (Writer's Genome) · sensory-genome
Owner directive (2026-07-10), canonical. "Neural Engines: The core physics and narrative processors. The Neural Engine dictates the 'Sensory Genome'—applying the stylistic lenses of writers like Rachel Carson (ecosystem interconnectedness) or John Muir (sensory grandeur) to procedurally generate descriptions of the environment as the camera moves." Content
The Sensory Genome (§4 header: "SENSORY GENERATION ENGINE (The Writer's Genome)" [src: ...:750]) is the neural-engine's narrative processor — the prompt structure "used by the Neural Engine to render the world's text and visual atmosphere based on environmental literature" [src: ...:752]. It is a genome in the HOS sense: a declarative, instanceable configuration (genome) from which the world's felt qualities are procedurally regenerated as the camera moves through a dynamic-island.
Frame constraint — diegetic only. "Visual Camera: Always continuous, tracking through the environment (No UI menus breaking immersion; all UI is diegetic, like holograms or physical signposts)" [src: ...:756]. Narration and interface alike live inside the world (diegetic-ui).
The three lens style-directions (registry: storytelling-lenses) with the owner's own example prose, quoted verbatim from the directive:
- Atmospheric rendering — scale, light, awe. "Focus on scale, light, and awe. Example: 'The data-streams cascaded down the monolithic server-cliffs, catching the dawn light in a prismatic display of raw, computational power.'" [src: ...:758]
- Ecological interconnectedness — actions visibly ripple through the biome. "Focus on how every action affects the biome. Example: 'As the Datans deposited their harvested Knowledge Particles into the central root-hub, the surrounding market district visibly pulsed, the neon flora blooming wider as the transaction cleared.'" [src: ...:760]
- Land-ethic grounding — the value of quiet, sustained work. "Focus on the ethics and value of the work. Example: 'The Looper accepted the Work Cell, knowing that this quiet, sustained effort in the outer districts was what kept the core engine breathing.'" [src: ...:762]
COPYRIGHT RULE. The lens names reference nature-writing traditions as style directions only. The three example lines above are the owner's own prose (quotable with this directive citation). Any further prose the Sensory Genome or its authors generate MUST be original text written in these spirits — actual passages from any published author are NEVER reproduced.
Inputs: the org's biome-archetypes register, current cycle-daynight state, adaptive-intelligence health signals, and the scene's scenery/slice context. Output: continuous environmental description synchronized with the tracking camera — the daily-loop narrated from Dawn to Dusk. The cogni framing ("The 'Cogni' Interpretative Framework" [src: ...:754]) makes it configurable per instance.
Composition
- uses: neural-engine (its host processor), storytelling-lenses (lens registry), cogni (interpretative framework), biome-archetypes + cycle-daynight + adaptive-intelligence (inputs), diegetic-ui (frame constraint)
- used-by: dynamic-island (its voice), daily-loop (narrates each step), scenery + slice (per-slice narration), spatial-site (rendered text/atmosphere)
