Essentia is one of the three sapiens3 bias systems — the private convolutional network scoped Endeavor-Self: "well-being, awareness, balance" [src: wiki/engines/sapiens3.md:92] [src: HOS-Webdoc/web/src/lib/sapiens3/personality.ts:13]. In every datan's bias distribution, Essentia is the self axis [src: HOS-Webdoc/web/src/lib/sapiens3/personality.ts:13]; getDominantBias() and getDecisionWeight() turn the distribution back into an Essentia/Aura/Warden dominant and a 0..1 task weight [src: wiki/engines/sapiens3.md:96]. Dual-axis note. Two grounded framings coexist (see Variants): the personality axis (code) — self/well-being/awareness/balance — and the spec axis — identity. Both are retained pending an owner ruling: the network that keeps a being balanced is also the one that holds who it is.

Beyond the bias network, Essentia is one of the three prime lineages from which every datan squad descends — "Each one must come from warden, aura, or essentia" (OWNER-2026-07-10, same-day answer). Essentia-descended squads carry the self-keeper temperament: aware, balancing, identity-facing. Prior canon already treats the three as beings: "Aura, Essentia and Warden are Entities, with a Holon, which should be visible in the types of Advisor, Companion, Assistants" — and places the self holon as "the closest we have of sentience" [src: wiki/development/prompts-archive/by-topic/remotica-xland-and-3d-avatars.md:38].
