District Index · district-index
Owner directive (2026-07-10), canonical. "And another one with the Holon District that composes, built it and will maintain it. The Kernel Districts prolab, fortress, library, academy, workstation, lighthouse." [src: wiki/development/prompts-archive/by-topic/knowledge-management-and-concept-modeling.md:596]

There are two canonical district lists that coexist at different altitudes, plus the polymorphism rule that binds them (full concept treatment in districts):
1. The D20 catalog — the 20 Mainland districts. The named districts of the Mainland Work OS: Hub, ProLab, Workstation, Library, Academy, OPStage, Store, Club, Community, Vault, Commitments, Rooms, Venture Campus, Trade Table, Trade Route, Trade Chamber, Supply Networks, Industrial Park, Guest Harbor, Finance Facilities [src: HOS-Webdoc/web/src/data/hos-specification.ts:423]. D20 also rules that the 26 "ecosystem" entries (Mainland/Bastion/Remotica, UTU, Royal Orbit, Sollex, GVP…) are NOT districts — they are OSes, programs, organizations and ventures.
2. The Kernel Districts — the invariant organs inside every Holon District. Per OWNER-2026-07-10: prolab, fortress, library, academy, workstation, lighthouse [src: wiki/development/prompts-archive/by-topic/knowledge-management-and-concept-modeling.md:596] — matching the six fundamental organs of the recursive Holon-District model: "Inside every Holon District there must be these six organs. They are invariant — present at every level of the recursion — and together they divide the whole spectrum of data" [src: wiki/architecture/holon-districts.md:25]. Organ duties: ProLab = lawful/agreement slice · Workstation = work/execution · Library = knowledge/holon · Academy = learning/capability · Fortress = trust/security · Lighthouse = orientation/genome (and the seat of the neural-engine) [src: wiki/architecture/holon-districts.md:29].
Hub. The owner's 2026-07-10 usage adds Hub as the coordination surface — "Hub, to update and talk with one another, every loop should have a commit" [src: wiki/development/prompts-archive/by-topic/knowledge-management-and-concept-modeling.md:586]. The wiki canon leaves Hub's relation to the six organs explicitly open: "how Hub relates to the six — it may be the district's root/console rather than a seventh organ" [src: wiki/architecture/holon-districts.md:73]. This index records Hub as the root/console of a Holon District, not a seventh organ, pending the pristine spec.
The binding rule (D11). "A District is a polymorphic building block … an environment of C/_ Pages that can build other Districts. Everything is polymorphic — a Website IS a district, a Workstation IS a district" [src: HOS-Webdoc/web/src/data/hos-specification.ts:581]. So the D20 catalog is a configuration of named Holon Districts on Mainland, while the Kernel Districts are the organs inside each of them — one list does not replace the other.
Where the Spatial Site fits. district-spatial-site is a new district instanced under this model: a Holon District carrying the six organs, whose Workstation runs the build squads, whose Library is this Knowledge Library, and whose Lighthouse hosts the kernel-neural-engine dispatch.
Variants
| # | Definition (verbatim) | Source | Ruling | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | "The 20 districts are: Hub, ProLab, Workstation, Library, Academy, OPStage, Store, Club, Community, Vault, Commitments, Rooms, Venture Campus, Trade Table, Trade Route, Trade Chamber, Supply Networks, Industrial Park, Guest Harbor, Finance Facilities." | [src: HOS-Webdoc/web/src/data/hos-specification.ts:423] | D20 → the Mainland district catalog | canonical |
| B | "The Kernel Districts prolab, fortress, library, academy, workstation, lighthouse." | [src: wiki/development/prompts-archive/by-topic/knowledge-management-and-concept-modeling.md:596] | OWNER-2026-07-10 → the invariant organs inside every Holon District; consistent with the six organs of wiki/architecture/holon-districts.md | canonical |
| C | "(ECOSYSTEM, Option C from gates.md lines 119-152) The 26 entries are NOT districts — they are OSes, programs, organizations, and ventures" | [src: HOS-Webdoc/web/src/data/hos-specification.ts:423] | D20 → exclusion rule; ecosystem entries never enter this index | canonical |
| D | "a District is an environment of C/_ Pages that can build other Districts. Everything is polymorphic — a Website IS a district, a Workstation IS a district, a Trade Chamber IS a district." | [src: HOS-Webdoc/web/src/data/hos-specification.ts:581] | D11 → the definition that lets A and B coexist (catalog vs organs) | canonical |
Composition
- uses: districts (concept), holon (the whole/part unit the recursion generalizes), genome-schema (districts key per instance genome)
- used-by: district-spatial-site (instanced under this model), kernel-neural-engine (Lighthouse hosts the dispatch), infograph (renders the organ map), cogni-neural-engine (Academy is the neuralware re-equip stop)
